HR Practitioner – Processing Plant  Worcester

The purpose of this role is to provide effective Human Resources support to the business unit/factory by delivering HR Services, practices and procedures that are aligned with the company’s objectives.

Required Qualifications

The successful candidate must possess:

Degree in Human Resource Management A degree in human resource management is essential to be considered for this position.

Valid Code EB Drivers’ License Candidates must possess a valid Code EB driver’s licence as part of the minimum requirements for this role.

Required Experience

Candidates applying for this position must have at least 3-5 years of experience as an HR generalist. Additionally, prior experience in Industrial Relations & CCMA roles is also required.

Required Knowledge and Skills

The ideal candidate should possess extensive knowledge of HR principles and practices, employment and labour legislation, change management processes, health and safety policies and procedures, and HR systems. The successful candidate should be skilled in verbal and written communication, able to work under pressure, have a high level of computer literacy, report writing, interpersonal, negotiation, logical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, analytical thinking, presentation, administrative and organisational, as well as numeracy.

Key responsibilities

Employee Relations The successful candidate will provide advice to line managers regarding the conduct and misconduct management processes. They will also provide advice and support to investigate/process disciplinary cases and grievances. Furthermore, they will review practices to ensure statutory compliance, coach line managers on disciplinary hearings and represent the organisation at CCMA (Conciliation and Arbitration).

Resourcing The successful candidate will be responsible for managing recruitment permissions, processing offers of employment/negotiation, ensuring adherence to the resourcing process, conducting interviews with line managers and selection tests, supervising orientation of new employees, managing probationary reviews, employee evaluations, and terminations, and ensuring site job profiles are updated.

Talent Management The successful candidate will be involved in talent management by processing recruitment permissions, ensuring the resourcing process is upheld, conducting interviews with line managers, supervising orientation of new employees, managing probationary reviews, employee evaluations, and terminations, and ensuring site job profiles are regularly updated.

Health and Safety Compliance The successful candidate will have a role in managing the IOD/minor injury treatment process and reporting and assisting the risk officer in monitoring IOD cases.

Organisational Design The successful candidate will liaise with line managers to establish proposals for all new positions, draw up new organisational plans, and drive change management initiatives along with the business and organisational objectives.

Training Development The successful candidate will compile training matrices from appraisal documents, facilitate HR training including adhoc refresher for employees and line managers, and drive development plans for all employees in C band positions.

Employment Equity The successful candidate will be responsible for drawing quarterly reports, driving staff profiles to meet agreed-upon KPIs for each site, and effectively engaging and advising line managers.

HR Administration The successful candidate will manage the new employee onboarding process, terminations and exit interviews, and HR information and data capturing into relevant systems and assure the data’s integrity. They will also provide advice and information to employees and management on HR policies and procedures, including equal opportunity, anti-discrimination, and occupational health and safety programmes. Additionally, they will counsel employees on employment policies and programmes, the company’s rules and regulations, and provide advice and assistance to staff members regarding possible discrimination based on race, religion, non-relevant physical or mental disability, sex, or age. The candidate will audit and draft compliant issues related to Ecowise and Capacity, run and analyse HR reports, and discuss with the business to update and maintain the monthly dashboard.
