Position for Water and Sanitation Engineer at Talenttac, Johannesburg
Talenttac is seeking experienced Water and Sanitation Engineers to join their team on a full-time or part-time basis. The ideal candidates should have the following qualifications and registrations:
BEng/BSc or BTech in Civil Engineering, preferably with a Master’s degree in water and sanitation services
Professional registration as a Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng with ECSA.
At least 10 years of experience in water and sanitation as a consulting engineer
Additional qualifications such as knowledge of FIDIC/NEC/JBCC, active membership in CESA/SAICE/WISA, NQF7 (labour-based construction), Pr CPM, and PMP will be considered advantageous.
The successful candidates must possess competent skills and experience in various tasks, including:
Administrative and human resource management
Technical capacity in managing, designing, and supervising Water Sector engineering projects
Municipal project experience in designing water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, water reticulation, sewer reticulation, bulk pipelines, canals, and stormwater management
Hydrology and determination of flood lines
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, iDAS, and HEC-RAS
Additional experience such as preparation of construction tenders and contracts, technical advising in PPP projects, and working with international funding agencies or NGOs is an advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage Engineers, Technologists, Technicians, and site staff throughout the planning, design, tender, implementation, and close-out stages of water and sanitation projects.
Coordinate and supervise the production of technical drawings, design, and reporting inputs by supporting staff.
Conduct, oversee, and evaluate feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed designs for various water and wastewater projects.
Prepare, oversee, and evaluate tender and contract documents, including specifications, special Conditions of Contract, and Bills of Quantities.
Construction monitoring and implementation of site construction work as required on a part-time basis.
Undertake hydrological investigations, reports, and determine flood lines.
Generate work for the Company through preparation of requests for proposals, expressions of interest, panel applications, and tenders
Management of projects and monitoring of performance and profitability.
Write and present proposals to government, public interest groups, or community groups.
Client liaison, including meetings and reporting.
